Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. She works for ESPN and works as an SportsCenter News Anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. It is this skill that helped her get her first position as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. There, she was a producer for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, the reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking across both Texas as well as Mexico. Also, she was a substitute for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Then she became anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She reported on all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She was born November 22, 1985 in Mexico City. She is more mature than her younger sister. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who died in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Still a senior in high school but knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta went to the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she was looking for. Following the completion of her high school education she was accepted into the University to pursue media studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director of WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. It was he who inspired her confidence, and his passion in Journalism touched her deeply. She strived to fulfill his expectations and never let him down.
